BIO

Elliott Goldkind began his musical career in New York City’s "downtown" music scene. He was performing at CBGBs and other NYC venues at the age of 15. He was a founding member of the not-too-legendary rock bands "Hodgepodge Lodge" and "Bones Jones Tones and the Jones Tones." Since then, Elliott has branched out, composing music for diverse media, ranging from orchestral and chamber music to film, television and commercials. His compositions in film have led him to collaborate with many talented artists including David Mamet and Jeff Buckley. His classical/concert music has been performed throughout the United States and Europe. Elliott received a formal education in classical music composition and theory from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In the last decade, Elliott has immersed himself in the world of film and television. He has scored film and television, and edited and sound and music for feature films. Elliott received advanced degrees, fellowships, grants and residencies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Sarah Lawrence College and New York University, and the MacDowell Colony, Reid Hall, Paris and Hochschule für Musik, Berlin. During his doctoral residency at UW-Madison, he revived the UW-Madison Contemporary Chamber Ensemble and served as its Artistic Director.
